Tripp recently moved back to North Carolina and started as Visiting Professor of Theology at Luther Theological Seminary after three years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Theology & Science at the University of Edinburgh. He recently released Divine Self-Investment: a Constructive Open and Relational Christology, the first book in the Studies in Open and Relational Theology series. For over 15 years Tripp has been doing the Homebrewed Christianity podcast (think on-demand internet radio) where he interviews different scholars about their work so you can get nerdy in traffic, on the treadmill, or doing the dishes. Last year it had over 4 million downloads. It also inspired a book series with Fortress Press called the Homebrewed Christianity Guides to... topics like God, Jesus, Spirit, Church History, etc. Tripp is a very committed and (some of his friends think overly) engaged Lakers fan and takes Star Wars and Lord of the Rings very seriously.

Tim Whitaker

The New Evangelicals

Tim is the founder and creative director of The New Evangelicals. Growing up, he always felt at home in evangelical spaces – until years later, when his studying and questions caused him to no longer be welcomed at in his church community. Brokenhearted, but undeterred, Tim continued to pursue a deeper understanding of faith, history, theology and the evangelical church. The more he uncovers, the more he realizes the importance of advocating for the marginalized in the church, exploring the full depth and breadth of Christian faith traditions, and holding toxic churches and leaders accountable.

John Dominic Crossan

John Dominic Crossan is an Irish-American biblical scholar with two-year post-doctoral diplomas in exegesis from Rome’s Pontifical Biblical Institute and in archeology from Jerusalem’s École Biblique. He has been a mendicant friar and a catholic priest, a Co-Chair of the Jesus Seminar, and a President of the Society of Biblical Literature. His focus, whether scholarly or popular, whether in books, videos, or lectures, is on the historical Jesus as the norm and criterion for the entire Christian Bible. His reconstructed Jesus incarnates nonviolent resistance to the Romanization of his Jewish homeland and the Herodian commercialization of his Galilean lake as present program and future hope of a transformed world and transfigured earth. Crossan’s method is to situate biblical texts within the reconstructed matrix of their own their own genre and purpose, their own time and place, and to hear them accurately for then before accepting.

Peter Enns

The Bible for Normal People Podcast

Pete is a biblical scholar who teaches and writes on Old Testament, New Testament, Second Temple Judaism, and the intersection of biblical studies and contemporary Christian faith. He has taught extensively at the seminary and doctoral levels (Westminster Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary, Harvard Divinity School, Fuller Theological Seminary, Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Biblical Theological Seminary) and on the undergraduate level (Temple University and Messiah College). He speaks actively in academic and ecclesiastical venues on topics pertaining the Bible and Christian faith. He has written or edited over a dozen books and many articles and essays.

Casey Sigmon

Saint Paul School of Theology
Casey Thornburgh Sigmon is an Assistant Professor in Preaching and Worship and Project Director of the Pause/Play Center for Preachers at Saint Paul School of Theology in Leawood, Kan. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a PhD in Homiletics and Liturgics. Her first book, Engaging the Gadfly: Moving from Reactionary to Reflective Preaching a Digital Age (Cascade), explores how the practice of preaching can affirm and subvert norms from social media and generative AI. Dr. Sigmon is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Aizaiah Yong

Princeton Theological Seminary

Aizaiah G. Yong is an ordained pentecostal Christian minister and practical theologian who has served in religious and higher education leadership for over a decade devoting his energy to healing and advocacy work that centers QTBIPOC communities. He is a distinguished international speaker and his background includes keynote presentations, guest sermons at a diverse range of ecumenical ministries, psychospiritual private and community based practice, executive consulting, faculty teaching experience, and seminary administrative leadership. His recent book, Multiracial Cosmotheadrism: a Practical Theology of Multiracial Experiences (Orbis Books, 2023), received the internationally acclaimed 2022 Raimon Panikkar Prize for the English language and critically explores how multiracial people transform efforts towards racial and planetary justice. Additional research interests of his include: contemplative spirituality, spiritual care, critical mixed race studies, internal family systems, as well as interreligious/intercultural facilitation. Aizaiah believes that healing is a collective work that is received when we relate to ourselves, one another, and the world from authenticity, curiosity, and perseverance.

Malcolm Foley

Baylor University

Rev. Dr. Malcolm Foley earned a PhD in religion from Baylor University in December 2021. His dissertation investigated Black Protestants responding to lynching from the late 19th to the early 20th century. Before coming to Baylor, Dr. Foley earned a BA in religious studies with a second major in finance and a minor in classics from Washington University in St. Louis. He subsequently completed a Master of Divinity at Yale Divinity School, focusing on the theology of the early and medieval church. Malcolm also serves as a co-pastor at an intentionally multicultural, nondenominational church, Mosaic Waco. He is the author of The Anti-Greed Gospel: Why The Love of Money is the Root of Racism and How the Church Can Create A New Way Forward (2025). He lives in Waco with his wife, Desiree, and two daughters, Jasmyne and Junia.
